Ever since I was first introduced to Prefuse73, I had to search out more of this really cool new music that used static, blips, bleeps, gurgles and other strange noises to create music. This led to Squarepusher (another fellow bassplayer, yay!) After that I started listening to Mouse on Mars and Autechre. And now I’m discovering even more cool stuff every day!

Sometimes I follow artists or labels, but I often also follow remixers. I stumbled upon Peter Rauhofer recently. He was the group called Club 69, back in the 90’s (remember “Style” and “I Look Good”?)
If you look up “Rauhofer” on iTunes, you’ll find of slew of lovely, dark, tribal, intense club remixes.

I have been playing with Ableton Live recently. I know Pro-Tools and Digital Performer are the industry standards, but Live’s emphasis on loop-based composition, DJ-ing and and live performance all seemed to jive better with my house music, hip-hop, experimental electronica tastes.
